Your Heart’s Desire

ImageDon’t ever underestimate the power of your prayers. Most certainly, don’t ever underestimate God’s answer to prayer. I am learning that God does immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. (Ephesians 3:20). The Holy Spirit is the power of the work that is in us. From Him we draw on his strength to have faith, hope and trust in the Lord.

I have some friends whose life motto is, “God does ALL things well.” They are experiencing a difficult situation at the moment and their hope, their faith and their trust is in a God who does all things well. This morning I was reading a devotional; here is an excerpt from that reading, “How do you react to the emergencies and tragedies of life? Are you able to rest in the fact that God is in control and that he does all things well?” (The One Year Christian History A daily Glimpse Into God’s Powerful Work).Image

I am also learning that through the trials and challenges in life, one situation, no matter how difficult it is to walk through, can hold the answer to a multitudes of prayers, sent up to a loving God, who hears each one.

Dear One, whatever your struggle is, focus on God, who is sovereign in all things. When we do we are less likely to miss the answer to prayer, especially when the answer looks completely different than what our mind has already played out.

The Holy Spirit keeps whispering, “If I am for you, who can be against you?” Indeed Lord, who.

ImageWhat then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Romans 8:31-32.

  1. Trusting in God during a trial and/or tragedy is indeed when we need to lean more on our faith and trust in God, yet it does indeed seem to be toughest, especially if we dare to ask, “Why?” Our family has been through so much that others often question the “Why?” Perhaps because God had a higher calling for us, but I really feel it’s too allow us to let His light shine in what sometimes feels like a forever dark cloud above us. The best compliment I received was when I was reading a eulogy in church and the Pastor said I have him some words to remember. Many have heard this before but what I said was, My sister asked me if I felt there really is a heaven. I said, “I’d rather live my life as though there is and find out there isn’t, than to live my life as though the isn’t and find out there is.” God works through you when you don’t even realize it. My sister also proclaimed she wants what we have as a family. She was referring to the peace that comes to our lives when we lean on and trust God, even with whatever life throws our way.

  2. Amen, Desi, it is in the midst of our struggles and dark clouds that our light shines the brightest when to choose to focus on how big our God is rather than allow our problems to dictate how big they are. Love you!

  3. Wonderful reminder today that we are serving a God who does ALL things well. Wonderful life motto and message today. Thanks for sharing.
