His Grace Finds Me

“This is the work of the Kohathites at the tent of meeting: the care of the most holy things.” Numbers 4:4.

I wonder, what are the most holy things in your life and how do you care for them? Before the Kohathites could move the ark of the convenant, Aaron and his sons were to go into the tent of meeting to prepare the ark for moving.

First they would take the curtain that was hung to block the view of the ark and place this curtain over the ark itself, then they would cover this with a leather covering and finally a cloth of solid blue.

This seems like a lot of work, but relationships take work, don’t they? Again, I wonder also, how are you caring for the most holy things in your life? As believers in Christ we no longer have to cover the ark of the covenant law because God’s law is no longer an external set of rules and principles; God’s law now lives inside us by the power of Holy Spirit. We no longer live by the law but by grace.

So, here are my questions; do you carry the covenant law in your hands or have you chosen to allow the covenant law live inside you and experience the love and grace of God?  Do you give yourself permission to accept God’s grace for you so you can extend it from you? Are you choosing to allow God’s grace to shape your life?

Precious One, you ARE most holy to God.

What A Scam

Over the past several weeks at our large faith gatherings, we have been talking about what it looks like to bring to true life to our community. Last night we heard wonderful testimony from our faith family of how God has moved through them to show his love and light to others.

Secretary Frustrated Over Telephone CallJust a few minutes ago I received another one of those scam phone calls. I know it was a scam because the gentleman wanted to talk about our Windows 8 product and we use MAC. He really wanted to speak with my husband but I told him anything he had to say to my husband he could say to me. He actually got a bit vulgar with me, I won’t repeat what he said as it would not bless you. He said it in such a nonchalant way that I almost missed it because of the subtle way in which it was said.

I told him I had some really good news for him and asked him if he wanted to hear my good news. I took his silence as a yes. I told him that even though he sounded like he was promoting a scam that Jesus loves him and died on the cross for him so he can be forgivenWooden cross (3 of his sins.

Before I could ask him if I could pray with him he said to me, “I’m sorry.” To which I replied, “you have a good evening.” And, before we disconnected he said to me again, “I’m sorry.”

I actually look forward to these calls. You may be calling with a scam but you’re going to hang up with Jesus.

I can’t wait until the next night of testimony at our faith gathering, I hope Holy Spirit chooses me to share!

Blood Covenant

Testament and penThe more I read through the Old Testament the more I fall in love with the history of God’s story. The more I understand the covenant of grace of the New Testament the less I see the laws and commands of the Old Testament as harsh or impossible. Instead I begin to see the love and compassion of God for his children and his deep desire to keep them safe.

Any Israelite or foreigner residing among you who hunts any animal or bird that may be eaten must drain out the blood and cover it with earth, because the life of every creature is in its blood. That is why I have said to the Israelites, “You must not eat the blood of any creature, because the life of every creature is in its blood; anyone who eats it must be cut off.” (from the community). Leviticus 17:13,14. emphasis added.

Contrast this with the blood of Christ, which we symbolically drink in remembrance of what He did on the cross for each of us; died so we could live and live life to the fullest.

The blood of Christ; the only blood that saves.

What Will You Bring?

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17.

I sit here this morning, having allowed myself to sleep in, it is after all a holiday here in our great Country. As usual my list of things to accomplish is long. Blessings to all you working moms who work outside the home as well as full-time in your home.

Before I get ready to open God’s word and immerse myself in the beauty and peace of what He has for me today, I make a quick perusal of a social media sight to see what others are up to. I stop by a prayer group to read requests and offer prayers on behalf of others, and Holy Spirit begins to whisper “Yaweh”. My next stop is to a group who is reading through the Bible chronologically this year. As I read what others have posted about their readings for today, Holy Spirit again whispers “Yaweh”. Now I am intrigued.

Although Yaweh is a name for God there is a specific meaning behind this name of His. I look up the meaning and find Yaweh is the Proper Name for God. Not only that it also means the one bringing into being, life-giver, giver of existence, creator. (Strong’s Hebrew 3068).

Last night our Pastor was speaking with us on the vision for our faith family. It was vision casting tied together with a sermon that gave me holy goose bumps and a desire to ‘let’s do this!’ You see, the past four years we have been in a season of being on a journey to discover Christ together. And while we are still a part of that journey, last night we entered a season of bringing true life to our community.

Bringing Yaweh.

That Power

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order Armageddonthat you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead. Ephesians 1:18-20a.

That power is resurrection power; that power has NO equal; that power lives inside every believer of Christ Jesus by the indwelling of Holy Spirit in you.

Reflecting on this incomparably great power, this power that has no equal, how does this change the way you look at your prayer life? Does this single sentence of truth cause you to hope, to know by faith that God hears your prayers and answers them according to his perfect will? Does this truth cause you to look outside the realm of your understanding for his answer to your prayers?

Those who believe in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior have been raised up with Christ and are seated with him in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 2:6). Not only that, we have been blessed in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. (Ephesians 1:3). I don’t know about you but these two thoughts are overwhelmingly big to me right now. We have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in heaven to live a supernatural life in Christ Jesus, right here, right now. We don’t have to wait until we get to heaven! So, what is stopping you? What is stopping me?

If we are in God (Acts 17:28) and Christ has overcome the world (John 16:33) then we are over comers of this world through Christ Jesus!

Does It Make It Right?

doodles-flowers328-01-111413-1077 (1)This morning as I was walking with my friend, in the deep dark and dense fog, that was actually a bit balmy and warm, not cold as one would expect fog to be, we began talking about world events. Specifically about the two militants that Jordan executed in retaliation to the death of one of their pilots. My friend explained how she and her daughter had been talking about this subject last night and my friend stated that finally someone was doing something about terror. I listened to my friend talk and then I said to her, “let me ask you a question.” “Does God love terrorists as much as He loves me and you?” She was silent for a few moments and I said to her, “yes, God does.” God loves all his creation, how could he not when each of us believer and terrorist alike are created in His image? Now, please, do not mishear me, God does not love the evil, the sin that people choose to buy into and live out, but he does love each of his created beings.

Many of us are familiar with John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. I think we do this verse and those we share it with an injustice if we don’t also share the gem right after it; that is John 3:17????????????

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

In the single most greatest act of love of all time, God gave His Son as a sacrifice so that all the world, even those who commit heinous acts of crime, could be saved through Him. Are you a believer in Christ? Then your responsibility is to love, like Jesus does, at all times.

My friend and I continued our conversation. I asked her how big is her God? Did she truly believe that God heard her prayers? Did she think that if she prayed and asked God to do something about this situation, even though she might not see evidence of it, that God would? From the beginning God’s heart has always been about the salvation of the nations. Was she praying and asking Holy Spirit to drop his seed of salvation into the hearts of evil people? Are you?

My friend’s daughter told her, “two wrongs don’t make a right.” I agree with her, yes, even in this situation.

Are you angry about the news of evil around the world? You should be, now let that anger move you to do something constructive. A good place to start is with prayer.

My heart is saddened that three people were killed in this situation, who, mostly likely, never had the opportunity to hear the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. They will spend eternity separated from God.

Hand drawing heart in sand on the beachLove is the most powerful spiritual weapon against evil. Use it and use it abundantly.

May the shalom of God be yours today and everyday.

Looking Through A New Lens

“Every step you take, every word you speak, every breath you earthbreathe-all is done in My watchful embracing Presence. You are totally immersed in My invisible yet ever-so-real Being! Sarah Young “Jesus Calling”

I know and believe by faith that the power that raised Jesus from the dead; resurrection power; the power of Holy Spirit lives in me. But, as I read the above paragraph from “Jesus Calling” the profoundness of me residing in Jesus came alive like a beautifully wrapped present just waiting to be opened and inside is something you’ve waited for and known all along but didn’t know until the gift was given and you chose to open and receive.

I have a precious friend, who, after receiving a gift from God, ‘gets back in line’, and says, “more Daddy!” More indeed! More light, more love, more grace, more mercy, more supernatural wisdom, more resurrection power!

for in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His children.’ Acts 17:28 (emphasis added).
