She knelt before him her helmet under her left arm and wearing her administrative clothes. Her robe was long and lush and of the most beautiful hue of ecru. It was lavishly embroidered and had a fur trim all around. And her helmet, ahh, well, it was a gift from a very sweet friend who told her it was like a nuclear warhead with missiles and different projectiles ready at her command.

For weeks now he has been saying to her, “Listen, listen to me.” Her response was always the same, “What am I listening for?” Today as she knelt before Him he said to her, “Jael you hear My voice and you follow Me and I know you. My daughter, you are my beautiful warrior and my beautiful princess; a warrior princess and I anoint you.”

Interesting, because for a few years now she and one of her best friends have called each other SWP, which means Sister Warrior Princess. Curiously she wonders what the anointing is for since she has thought of herself as a warrior and a princess for a long time now.

To be continued….

My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27.

Every Act Of Love

Over the past several months God has been speaking to me about love. Not just love but loving deeply, loving beyond myself, loving even if love is never reciprocated. As I reflect this morning I realize that this new awareness of God connects back to when I first began asking Him what it looks like to be more intimate with him and God is shaking the foundation of what I thought love looked like.

Yesterday I came across Psalm 149:6-8.

May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands, to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron.

When I first read this my initial thought was that this doesn’t sound very loving. Then Holy Spirit began speaking to me to write these verses in my book of prayers to remind me to pray for the lost and not just the lost outside the Church but the lost within as well. He reminded me that God’s word is sharper than any double-edged sword and the sword in my hand and in your hand is the word of God. And we can give God’s word back to him as a prayer from our heart.

Certainly, I am not praying that God will inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, but we can praise God that he has equipped us with the sharpest sword and with our sword we can pray not just for the lost but for any situation that may seem hopeless and find hope in the truth of his word.

Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in obedience to him. You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours. Psalm 128:1,2.

Precious One “With every act of love we bring the kingdom come”

Do  you remember the television series St. Elsewhere? The show was a hospital drama of doctors dealing with the day-to-day reality of working in a big city hospital; St. Eligius Hospital in Boston. My guess is that the show was titled St. Elsewhere, because deep down, perhaps, the fictional doctors wanted to be anywhere else than St. Eligius Hospital.

I love to read and reading God’s word is no exception and while all of God’s word is delightful to my soul, yes even those harsh area’s we sometimes ask, “why?”, I do have my favorite books. I love the books of the prophets, Isaiah is my favorite with Jeremiah, Joshua and even Zechariah as a close second. I know of others who love to read through the Psalms and Proverbs several times a year along with their daily devotional reading. I have never fallen in love with the Psalms. In fact, for years I have always rushed through reading the Psalms. But, this year I am reading through the Bible in chronological order and not all of the Psalms are grouped together nor are they in numerical order. For some reason many of the Psalms stand out at me, which seems like, for the very first time.

This morning I read this verse.

Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere. Psalm 84:10a.

A thousand elsewhere. Where do you spend your elsewhere? What does it look like to spend one day in His courts? And, if one day in his courts is better than a thousand days somewhere else, why wouldn’t we want to spend everyday in his courts as opposed to simply one day?

Will you spend your days in elsewhere fretting over the condition of the world? Or, will you spend your days in his courts praying for the salvation of the nations?

Unlike the fictional characters of St. Elsewhere,

My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD. Psalm 84:2a.

Has the American Church Lost Her Voice?

Well said SWP!

Cinderella in Army Boots

Has the American Church lost her voice? And if so, how can she get it back?

The question is not whether the American church can still speak but whether she still has a voice, an ability to influence and shape the culture around her and bring desirable transformation through her interaction with outsiders (people who do not identify themselves as belonging to the church).church with flag  If you ask the Barna Group, I’m sure they have some actual research on the subject, but I think most of us would agree that for a majority of outsiders, the American church has no voice.  We may not be able to pinpoint the exact moment that we lost our voice, possibly because it’s been happening over time, and yet we’ve seen the signs all around us that should have clued us in for some time now that this was the case.  Still, last week’s Supreme…

Paper Dolls

When I was a little girl I would spend hours playing with paper dolls. The dolls came in a book similar to current day sticker books. Some had perforations around the dolls and their clothes making it easier to take them from the book and some had to be cut around and along the dotted lines, causing the anticipation of playing with them to grow and grow, until finally, they were free from the book and ready to be dressed and played with! The clothes had paper tabs on them that were folded over and that is how they hung or clung to the paper dolls.

I had a clique of paper dolls, they all hung out together and were nice to each other. I was the DollChainsDiagonal170mom, I led by example even at that early age. Sometimes I would line up my paper dolls as if the were holding hands, something like this picture.

What do you suppose it would look like if, spiritually, I held your hand and you held another’s hand and they held another’s hand and so and so on, until all around the world the hands of believers in Christ were held by each other and we began to pray for the lost of the world? I believe fear would be afraid and run and hide. The eyes of fear would be opened to the heavenly host and chariots of fire surrounding it on the mountain ridge! I believe millions will be saved, having heard the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

A few weeks ago, as I sat praying, I asked Papa to show me who around the world was praying the same thing that I was praying. Every afternoon my husband calls me, while on his long commute back home from work, and we talk about our day with each other. On this day that I asked God to show me who was praying like I was, my husband told me he was praying for a certain group of people who were persecuting others in another country and it was exactly what I had been praying for that morning and neither of us knew it until that moment of conversation. What makes the moment even sweeter is that my husband is a private person and doesn’t usually share what he is praying for or about.

Do you believe that God is omnipotent? If you do then you have to believe He is capable of doing anything, even linking the hands of his children offering up the sweet sacrifice of prayer together, united by Holy Spirit, throughout the entire Bride around the world.

The Lion’s Roar

A few days ago I saw a picture of a lion and his cub on a rock outcropping called Simba Kopjes in the Serengeti and immediately Holy Spirit began speaking to me that He is calling his pride across the nations in droves but the world does not recognize it yet. Imagine with me the Lion of Judah opening his mighty mouth and roaring across the nations! Can you see the sound reverberations?! Do you hear His call?! Click here and scroll down to see this amazing picture!

A few minutes after seeing this picture a dear friend and soul Sister sent me a text with a word from Holy Spirit from Isaiah 31:4,5.

This is what the Lord says to me:

“As a lion growls, a great lion over its prey—and though a whole band of shepherds is called together against it, it is not frightened by their shouts or disturbed by their clamor—so the Lord Almighty will come down to do battle on Mount Zion and on its heights. Like birds hovering overhead, the Lord Almighty will shield Jerusalem; he will shield it and deliver it, he will ‘pass over’ it and will rescue it.”

Oh, it gets even better! Below is some of my daily Bible reading from the same day, which I read after my friend’s text.

He lifts up a banner for the distant nations,
he whistles for those at the ends of the earth.
Here they come,
swiftly and speedily!
 Not one of them grows tired or stumbles,
not one slumbers or sleeps;
not a belt is loosened at the waist,
not a sandal strap is broken.
 Their arrows are sharp,
all their bows are strung;
their horses’ hooves seem like flint,
their chariot wheels like a whirlwind.
 Their roar is like that of the lion,
they roar like young lions;
they growl as they seize their prey
and carry it off with no one to rescue. Isaiah 5:26-29.

Did you catch in verse 26 of Isaiah 5 that the Lord whistles for the distant nations?!! I see two messages here. God has raised His banner over all the nations and is calling or whistling to us across the nations to come together as the mighty warriors that we are for an epic battle in the spiritual realms. We don’t need to fear any repercussions because HE will shield and deliver us, HE will pass over and rescue us!

Precious One, seize, which means to attack and take control of, your prey-the enemy, today and everyday, by the power of Holy Spirit in you through prayer for the glory of the kingdom of God! Amen?
