Gratefulness And Lovebugs

freedomEver since I was a little girl all I ever wanted to be was a mommy and I had a wonderful example in my own mother of what it looked like to be a mom who was devoted to her family. But, I didn’t want to be just a mommy, I wanted to be stay at home mommy, just like my mom. I know now that God placed this dream in my heart even before I was born. He set me apart for the best job I’ve never gotten paid for and the joys along with the sorrows far outweigh any monetary value.

Gratefulness is an attitude. We choose whether we will be grateful for the blessings in our life or simply expect them as something that is due us. I am grateful for God’s blessings and the challenges and struggles he allows because the challenges of life have and are what builds perseverance and shapes my character.

This morning as I dropped my youngest love bug off at school I was especially aware and grateful that I have the ability to do so. Being grateful this morning reminded me that I ought to spend more time everyday being grateful.

Precious One, what is one thing you are grateful for today?

O give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting. 1 Chronicles 16:34.

Protect, Trust, Hope, Persevere

I am sitting in the quiet stillness of the early morning and as hard as it is to get up at this time, it is my favorite time of day. Time spent reading my favorite book and listening for the still small voice of God. My alarm sounded at 4:30 a.m., as it does each day of the work week, and as I continued to lay in bed, God began talking to me about marriages.

He gave me the word protector and reminded me what he says about marriage in His word.

He reminded me that husbands are to love their wife as they love their own body. Indeed, he created wives with the desire to be cherished by their husband as if they were their husband’s own body. He created wives to be loved by their husband as Christ loves the Church. As Christ loves the Church; there is such beauty and raw passion in that statement. Think about this, say it over and over until it sinks deep into your heart. The love Christ has for the Church is the love a husband ought to have for his wife!

At the same time he created husbands with the desire to be honored and respected by their wife. A wife is to submit to her husband as she submits to the Lord. And as she continues in her relationship with Jesus, He gives her everything she needs to submit, honor and respect her husband, which allows him to step into and continue to grow in his role as leader of their household.

Husbands are the protector of their family just as Christ is the Protector of the Church. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes and always perseveres.

As Christ loves the Church.

Vineyards, Prayer and Authority

Good morning Friends! Greetings and blessings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Just a quick nugget this morning. Holy Spirit gave me a great word for a friend and I wanted to share with all of you to encourage and give you hope!

My friend’s daughter is having trouble sleeping and what came immediately to mind are these verses in Isaiah:

 In that day—

“Sing about a fruitful vineyard:
     I, the Lord, watch over it;
    I water it continually.
I guard it day and night
so that no one may harm it. Isaiah 27:2-3

I explained to my friend that I pray this as a prayer of protection over my children. I thank God that my kids are a fruitful vineyard and that God watches over them and waters them and guards them so that no one will harm them.

I further explained to my friend that as the mother of her children she has spiritual authority over them just as her husband has spiritual authority over her and their children and our pastor has spiritual authority over us, as the sheep God has given our pastor in God’s flock to protect, all under the authority of Christ!

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Matthew 28:18.

Such a good word from Holy Spirit this morning and one that I needed to hear and be reminded of myself! God indeed does work all things together for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose.

May you bask in his love today and be ever mindful of your authority in Him.
