A train I did find
Just in time
Though she no longer runs.
Passengers she did carry
Here and there
Maybe everywhere.
Can’t you hear her horn
See her billowing steam
If only in your memory?
Her glory days are over
But here she sits
For all to see.
No longer charging across the tracks
A stunning beauty
No power does she lack.
No. 736
You proudly sit on display
Thank you for your service.

I love this sentiment for it reminds me of the last train to San Fernando in 1965 right here in Trinidad.
Diana, it fills my heart with joy that God would bless you with your memory through a picture He inspired me to take and gave me the words for! God bless you! π
That’s our God for you! π Thank you and may He continue to bless and use you for His glory.
Thank you! Blessings returned! π₯°
You’re welcome and thank you. π

I love steam trains, when we have visited heritage lines with ‘rescued’ trains the smell of the coal and steam is wonderful.
It is wonderful! Where we live there are tracks that havenβt been used in 20 years but when we walk along the trail we can still smell train! Causes me to reflect back to what it must have been like living in once was a sleepy farm town and hearing the train.
