The Young Queen

She sat on her throne giving a regal wave to all who passed by. Her gown was a beautiful combination of pastels—pinks, baby blue, and even some sea foam green with a hint of gold. Her hair was the color of flax and created a majestic contrast to her golden crown inlaid with what were surely precious family jewels.

As we drove past we received one of her stately waves and we noticed a sign behind her throne that caused us to turn around at the next corner and drive back to Her Highness. You see, it was this young queen’s Birthday. As we stopped in front of her throne we rolled down the window and called out, “Happy Birthday, Princess!” She stood and turned slightly, as if addressing her many subjects, reached up to gently straighten her crown and assured us in the sweetest voice, “I am a Queen.”

Yes, yes you are sweet girl! And, though your throne is really a chair in the back of your daddy’s pickup truck, today you are a Queen!

I’m sorry you couldn’t celebrate your Birthday with friends, presents, games, and cake or cupcakes, but you displayed such grace. Thank you for sharing your Birthday joy with your community.

Happy Birthday, Queen. God bless you always, sweet one.

    1. Praise God and thank you! We are well and praying we can have some sort of normal again soon. Hope all is well with you and yours! Thank you for stopping by. 🙂

      1. Hi Terese, it is always nice to hear from you. Every time I see or feel gloom, I smile thinking about the coming of Our Lord. It is a job sharing what we do share but the Gospel must be spread right where God’s people are and throughout the world… and, if we love the Lord, we will spread the Gospel no matter how Satan tries to stand in our way. I know that time is short, I thought it was Tuesday when it is actually Friday! Cheers for a blessed day and weekend.
