Mighty Warrior

Mighty Warrior. If you are a child of God; belief in Jesus through faith, you are a mighty warrior. Perhaps you don’t feel like a mighty warrior, rest assured you are. Maybe you don’t want to be a mighty warrior, but you are. Mighty warrior is in your spiritual lineage if not your physical lineage, as Abraham was the father of many nations.

Mighty warrior is your identity in Christ. Ahh, perhaps that rings truer in your spirit. Redundant as it may sound, you can’t fight being a warrior. Oh, you could dig you heels in like a petulant child and refuse to act like a warrior, but that is not becoming for an ambassador of heaven.

How, you may ask, do you fight like a mighty warrior?

  • Find time daily to sit with Jesus and simply ask Him to lavish you with His love, He will. He loves to love you!
  • Ask Holy Spirit to lead you to the place in His word that He has a surprise or revelation for you, He will, He loves to teach you new things or things you may have never noticed before.
  • Ask Him what is on His heart for you to pray about, He will, He loves when your heart is covered by His and they beat together as one heartbeat.
  • Praise Him and worship Him!
    • He is El Shaddai.
    • Adonai.
    • The Ancient of Days.
    • The Great I Am.
    • The Way, the Truth and the Life.
    • El Roi, the God who sees you.
  • Thank Him for Who He is.
    • He is sovereign.
    • He is omniscient.
    • He is omnipresent.
    • He is omnipotent.
    • For saving you.
    • For your faith.
    • For your struggles along with the brighter days.

His words are the most powerful tool He has given you! Learn to use them, and wisely so. Memorize them, if memorization isn’t your jam, I get it. Write His words on 3×5 cards (my favorite), sticky notes, a pocket-size journal, the notes app on your phone (most come with an app already installed), even scraps of paper work! You see, there ought to be no excuse for not knowing His words.

Most importantly, read His word. Read it for yourself. Read it for His revelations to you. You don’t have to start out reading the entire Bible in a year, although that is an awesome goal to work toward. Rather, start by reading one Psalm a day. Before you realize it, you will be craving His word more and more. Your soul longs for eternity that He placed in your heart (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Feed your soul what it craves, to be close to its Creator. Until He returns or calls you home, you can be close to Jesus, right here, right now, in His word. You can hear Him.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27.

As you continue to stay tethered to Jesus, something else amazing begins to happen. Your apprenticeship with Him grows! He trains and teaches you about your authority in Him. Guess what you can do with your authority in Him by the power of Holy Spirit? Step on the heads of snakes and scorpions, AND, you will overcome the power of the enemy, AND, you will not be harmed. What?!

Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Luke 10:19.

Do you believe Luke 10:19? Keep repeating this verse to yourself, over and over, until your heart believes what your mind knows, the Truth.

Just as you have learned your job, how to parent, or become a stellar student, learn to represent the kingdom of heaven with excellence.

Fight well, Mighty Warrior.
