A Crown Upon His Head

I saw the Lion of Judah with a crown upon His head and heard, Jesus is the rightful King. Is He the King of your life? The enemy has come to steal, kill and destroy. I came to restore and offer new life.

I asked Holy Spirit, “What does that look like for the Bride?” I heard, the Bride is my beautiful possession. She belongs to Me and I to Her. When She seeks Me first and My righteousness, My way of life for Her, all aspects fall into cadence with My heart and My wonderful plans for Her life. This doesn’t mean there won’t be trials and struggle, heartache or temptation. It does mean I will always be right beside Her, leading her to calm and still waters. Showing Her My joy in spite of life circumstances. She has a choice; will She reach out and grab My outstretched hand? Will She choose healing or does She desire the status quo in Egypt? Her choice didn’t end when She chose Me. Everyday is filled with choices. Will She allow Me to be at the center of those choices? Will you? Collectively as a family member of the Bride and individually as a dearly and beloved child of God?

The word possession stood out for me. I understand that many people may have a negative perception of possession. Especially for women, many who are still considered possessions today as were ancient Israelite women. Certainly, God tells us we are His possession but He offered Himself as a possession to us first!

I am to be the only inheritance the priests have. You are to give them no possession in Israel; I will be their possession.

Ezekiel 44:28

God wants us to grasp and take ahold of Him! Maybe you’re thinking, Okay, but this verse addresses only the priests of Israel. This is true, BUT, read what God calls us in 1 Peter 2:9.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

I know you caught we are a royal priesthood, therefore we are each a priest for the kingdom of heaven and one of our main priestly duties is spreading the good news of the gospel of Jesus in love and grace.

Possession in 1 Peter 2:9 means, for abundant (all-around) gain*…literally. What does or could it look like when the Bride, when we, live our life in the truth of abundant all around gain? Perhaps we would no longer give any energy to our circumstances and fully focus on God and His will for our life and praising Him in thankfulness. Challenges, struggles and hard times, as well as really good times, will always be a part of life on earth, but the truth is we are abundant in Christ. Amen?

I wonder, will you join me in a week long challenge? Everyday for the next seven days consistently remind yourself (3×5 cards work great and are portable) and your circumstances you are abundantly and all around gainful in and through Jesus. When we choose to change our perspective on the word possession we can see that truly it is our inheritance in Jesus.

We chose Jesus, we get Jesus. He is ours. He belongs to us as much as we belong to Him and joined to Him we are one with God. All He has He offers to us.

Keep your eyes above street level.

Shalom!
