Hello Friends! Coming to you from Savannah, GA today. Y’all, this Cali gal cannot get enough of Southern hospitality!Continue reading “Your Gift is for Everyone”
This year of restoration has been an emotional rollercoaster. Some due to the stress of an ongoing struggle, some due to the discovery of a medical condition, (thank you Jesus, my symptoms are finally being recognized and it isn't all in my head!), and some because of transition.
Today my son and I needed to take care of some college prep and living arrangement items and we spent a fair amount of time in the car. My son loves music and he loves to play his music for me. Just when I thought I couldn't bear one more song, my son says, "This next song, someday everything in this song will come true."
Here is a small portion of some of the lyrics.
"Hey mama, I want to scream so loud for you
'Cause I'm so proud of you, let me tell you what I'm about to do (hey mama)"
"And when I'm older, you ain't got to work no more
And I'm a get you that mansion that we couldn't afford (hey mama)
See your unbreakable, unmistakable, highly capable, lady that's making loot
A living legend too, just look at what heaven do, send us an angel, and I thank you" – Kayne West
Do you know how incredibly hard it is to drive, while choking back tears because your son has touched your heart so deeply?
God promised 2017 would be a year of restoration. It has also been a year of blessings.

Many times the beauty of God’s word is enhanced when we hear Him speak to us from his ancient words. Allow the Ancient of Days to speak to your heart with his words from long ago.
Yet the LORD will command in the daytime his covenant loyalty and in the night his song with my prayer to the God of my life. Psalm 42:8.
Covenant loyalty stirs in my heart and strengthens my faith in his commitment to me, rather than “directs his love.” I no longer view, “his song is with me – a prayer to the God of my life,” as two separate thoughts, rather, his song and my prayer meet together to praise Him, the God of my life.
That’s the God we serve, graciously beckoning us to join him in all that he does, even as he sings a song of ancient words over us for all the heavenlies to hear, he calls to us to join him right there with words of prayer.
Precious One, do you hear what I hear?
When I was in sixth grade I sat in second seat in the flute section of our elementary school band. Other than that one experience, I am NOT musically inclined in any way, shape or form. Wait, I was a Song Girl in high school, but we didn’t sing, we danced and that is entirely another story! All the same, music moves me, especially worship music. When I am with my faith family and we are singing as one, it is an amazing experience! Might I add that during these times I sound awesome…..in my mind! Thankfully and at least, God loves a cheerful noise however that may sound.
Last summer we were in a small airport waiting on a flight delay. I had my ear buds in and my worship music loud and was pinning or sharing from one website to another. Suddenly, I look up and my family is staring at me with a look somewhere in between embarrassment and horror. Yep, you guessed it, I was carried away and had begun to sing, out loud and apparently not so quietly.
Don’t you think God enjoys those moments with us? When it is just the two of us hanging out, having a good time and it doesn’t matter who else is around? It reminds me of the story of King David when he had returned from war and the Lord had made him victorious. He came back into town dancing before the Lord with all his might. Wearing a linen ephod. (2 Samuel 6:14). Here is one artists rendition of what David might have looked like. His first wife Michel accused him of going around half-naked and in front of the slave girls! Lord have mercy, what was he thinking? David’s response to Michel was simple, “I will celebrate before the Lord.” (2 Samuel 6:21b).
While I don’t encourage any of us going around “half naked” physically, I would like to suggest baring our hearts in full nakedness in worship to the Lord. Today and everyday I encourage you to celebrate before the Lord however the Spirit moves you! Freedom in Christ is part of your inheritance and the Spirit will NEVER misguide you!
Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. Luke 9:26
